Jobs Board:
Coaching, Umpiring and Volunteering opportunities

Playing is not the only way to join our community. As a player-run club, we are always looking for support to run our club. Join the fun without pulling on the boots.

  • Coaching

With six senior sides, we are always seeking coaches to join our ranks and support our players to be the best they can be, and get the most out of playing footy - whatever their goals.

We are currently seeking coaches for Season 2024, including:
    - Premier A Senior Women’s Assistant Coach
    - Women’s Thirds Coach/co-coaches
    - assistant coaches across all grades.

Whether you’re just starting out, or have years of experience, there is something for everyone at West. Reach out to President Evan Lloyd to discuss further. Follow the link below to view current coach advertisements for more information.

  • Sports Trainers

We are currently seeking a Head Trainer and Sports Trainers for 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for paid experience in an amateur sporting club, with a strong emphasis on community and progressive values.

As a trainer you will be responsible for strapping and massage, and you will gain experience in game day preparation and acute injury assessment and management. These positions are ideal for physio, osteo or exercise science students as well as people with an interest in sports massage or sports medicine (hours can count towards practical hours as part of study). In-house training and ongoing support will be provided.

To express your interest in these exciting opportunities, please email your c.v. and any other relevant information to westbrunswick@gmail.com

  • Volunteer - Match Day Roles

Game day roles can include running water, running boundary, goal umpiring, running messages, timekeeping, and running the scoreboard - there’s something for everyone.

Most of these roles are filled week-to-week by our players around their games, but this can be tricky to manage at times. Extra hands make light work, and there is no ongoing commitment or expectation on availability.

Unsure how to fill a game day role? We’ll show you the ropes. Reach out to our amazing footy ops team today to find out more for season 2024!

  • Volunteer - committee and other roles

In 2021 we updated out committee structure to ease the burden on our volunteers by widening the distribution of responsibilities, and to offer more opportunities for people to be involved regardless of their availability.

We cater to all levels of experience, interest, and availability to find a role that suits you, and we always welcome new people to get involved.

If you are interested in discussing how you can help the club behind the scenes, please check out our organisation chart below, and reach out for more information!

  • Canteen and Bar

We are always in need of support to run our bar and canteen on match day and at events. While this will look a little different in 2024 as our pavilion is rebuilt, we are still on the hunt for people to fill one of the best gigs at the club.

Canteen – assistance in serving or in food preparation on game days including picking up stock, loading the fridges, setting up the displays, taking payments.

Working behind the bar – To work behind the bar for post-match or events require an RSA.

These are great inside roles where you get to meet and chat with everyone who comes through the door. Reach out to find out more.
